Culberson Hospital Christmas Party Honors Long Term Employees

Six Culberson Hospital and Van Horn Rural Health Clinic employees were recognized for achieving employment milestones at the annual staff Christmas party December 6th.  

Romelia “Romy” Ramirez, business office manager, has been a part of the hospital for 20 years.  In honor of this achievement, she was awarded a pin, gift card and trophy.  Javier “Harvey” Corralez, maintenance, and Prescilla Ortega, administrative assistant, both received their 15-year pins while Amanda Soto, activity director, received her 10-year pin.  All were also given gift cards.

“It is a pleasure to work with experienced staff like Romy, Harvey, Prescilla and Amanda,” said Rick Gray, hospital administrator.  “They always perform at a high level, and help to make my job easier.”

Gray also presented 5-year pins to Gilda Morales, APRN, nurse practitioner, and Ruben Ortega, EMT (emergency medical technician).

The noon luncheon was catered by Olive Garden, whose employees drove to Van Horn from El Paso to provide the delicious meal.  

Approximately 50 employees enjoyed the great food and great company.  Also in attendance were Laura Reyes, president of the Culberson County Hospital District (CCHD), Cheryl Owen, CCHD board member and Culberson Hospital nursing staff member, Andy Freeman, president and CEO of Preferred and Jared Chanski, Preferred executive vice president and former Culberson Hospital administrator.
